Position Overview: 

Our client is a leading biotechnology company (MNC) dedicated to advancing cellular therapies and innovative treatments. The companys mission is to improve patient outcomes through cutting-edge research and development.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will work closely with the CEO to oversee the companys operations, focusing on NMPA licensing, patent management, and optimizing production line flow in China. The COO will also play a pivotal role in driving cultural change within the office located in China, ensuring alignment with the global values and objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations and ensure efficient processes across all departments.
  • NMPA Licensing: Manage and streamline the NMPA licensing process for new products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in Mainland China.
  • Patent Management: Oversee the patenting process for new innovations, working closely with legal teams to secure intellectual property rights.
  • Production Optimization: Enhance production line efficiency, implementing best practices to improve productivity and quality.
  • Cultural Transformation: Lead initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive company culture in the China office, aligning with the companys global standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement strategic plans that drive growth and operational excellence.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a high-performing team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a COO or in a similar senior executive role within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of NMPA licensing processes and regulatory requirements in China.
  • Strong understanding of patent management and intellectual property rights.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize production processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a track record of driving cultural change.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Cantonese, Mandarin and English
