Overview
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our client's Risk Management Department as a Manager in Enterprise Risk Control. This role is essential for enhancing the bank's risk governance framework and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while managing a comprehensive approach to enterprise risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead high-priority initiatives focused on regulatory compliance to strengthen the bank's risk governance framework, including policies and procedures.
- Implement processes to improve oversight of the bank's overall risk landscape, including managing the Risk Appetite Framework and addressing Top and Emerging Risks.
- Drive impactful results for projects and initiatives, effectively communicating recommendations to senior management and providing updates to external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Risk team to identify and devise solutions for key risks, ensuring proactive management of Top and Emerging Risks.
- Prepare and deliver presentations for senior management and committee materials, fulfilling secretariat responsibilities as needed.
- Serve as a second line of defense (SLOD) for the Risk team, reviewing and challenging the first line across various business functions.
- Oversee various risk types, including Model Risk Management, Reputational Risk, New Product Risk Analysis, ESG Risk, and other enterprise risks as assigned.
- Develop and maintain a robust risk assessment framework to ensure that risks are identified, measured, and monitored effectively across the organization.
- Foster a risk-aware culture within the bank by providing training and guidance on best practices in risk management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, law, or a related field; ECF certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise risk management, risk governance, consulting, or regulatory roles within the banking sector in Hong Kong.
- Strong understanding of Hong Kong banking regulations pertaining to risk management, including familiarity with HKMA supervisory policies.
- Excellent organizational skills, capable of multitasking and prioritizing effectively; a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Adaptability to changing circumstances and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team, while meeting strict deadlines.
