Business Function Risk Management Group (RMG) is responsible for the development and maintenance of risk management and internal control frameworks. We provide independent review and challenge to business to ensure that appropriate balance is considered in risk/return decisions. In addition, RMG is responsible for the monitoring and reporting on key risk issues of the Bank. To manage risk effectively and deliver strong financial performance, we invest significantly in our people and infrastructure.
Responsibilities: - Supervising a team of credit analysts and monitoring specialists to ensure:
- monitoring of accounts for margin compliance and follow up on accounts in collateral shortfall or limit excess
- monitoring of limits and exposure to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the Bank's internal policies
- monitoring of ad-hoc transactions & limit excesses (where applicable)
- providing support to the management information system (MIS)/Analytics team for portfolio profiling, exposure management, management reporting and stress testing(where applicable)
- Responsible for team's monitoring accounts for margin compliance and follow up on accounts in collateral shortfall or limit excess
- Implementing robust credit monitoring procedures and controls to identify, assess and address credit-related issues proactively
- Driving continuous process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of credit monitoring activities
- Collaborating with relationship managers, credit risk managers, product specialists and other stakeholders to provide credit monitoring process recommendations (where required)
- Liaising with systems owners to develop and improve the systems required for risk monitoring and generation of MIS data (where applicable).
- Fostering a positive team culture and providing mentorship to develop the skills and capabilities of team members
Requirements: - University graduate in Finance, Accountancy, Banking or other related disciplines. Possession of professional qualifications an added advantage.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, in credit control and monitoring, preferably related to Private Banking credit.
- Strong people management skills, ability to lead the team by coaching, guiding and motivating team members
- Strong knowledge in banking practices for Private Banking &/or Consumer Banking products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skill and possess creative mindset for continuous improvement on credit monitoring.
- Strong understanding of credit operation with hands-on experience in credit risk monitoring processes for Private Banking clients and products.
- Good stakeholder management, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge and experience on programming language (e.g. VBA/Python) or Avaloq system would be an advantage.
