Accountabilities
  • Collaboration with business and senior leadership to develop and implement business strategies that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaison between different business units and functions, fostering communication and collaboration.
  • Management and coordination of strategic initiatives, projects, and change management efforts to optimize business processes and strengthen the control environment.
  • Improvement of operational efficiency within the organisation including the identification of areas for improvement, streamlining of processes, and implementation of best practices to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
  • Development of performance reporting for key metrics that reinforce the strategic objectives of the division and support the external commitments made. Involvement in aspects of financial analysis and budget management, including assistance in financial planning, forecasting, and monitoring of financial performance against targets.
  • Support to business heads in partnership with HR on hiring, workforce planning, joiner/mover/leaver actions.

Client Strategy Team is a dedicated team within Markets Business Management, supporting Distribution, the sales organisation within Markets. Each product cluster has its own Client Strategy effort but they each partner closely to deliver a robust and coordinated holistic client strategy across asset classes, ensuring that we make the best use of our resources to deliver value for clients and maximise returns. This also involves collaboration with Trading and Research management to ensure a holistic delivery to Clients.

The team operates in the Americas, Europe and Asia (SGP, HK and TKY), with members working closely across regions and products.

Join Barclays in the role of APAC Equities Client Strategy, which you will play a pivotal role by closely working with Head of Equities Sales APAC and contribute to executing the ambitious growth plans in APAC. Your immediate focus will be on Equities Derivatives products across Asia ex Japan, across various countries, as well as client segments.
  • Contribute to devising the client strategy for various countries, client segments, and products leveraging various external/ internal intelligence, working closely with Sales/Trading. Ultimately, this role should act as a trusted partner to Equities Distribution & Trading management in APAC, providing strategic advice and participating on business decisions related to Distribution, including strategy, structure, processes, talent and platform.
  • Ensure global alignment of Asia client strategy, as well as APAC alignment across FICC and Equities. Facilitate cross-selling between products, as well regions.
  • You will partner with Business Managers and infrastructure to continuously improve the experience of clients and Distribution talent by optimising processes and driving the digitisation of the franchise.

Essential Skills/ Requirements
  • Experience in Global Markets Division, Investment Bank, or Finance industry overall.
  • Advanced ability to use PowerPoint and MS Excel.
  • Advanced communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).
  • Strong Quantitative skills and Strategic mindset
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail
  • Highly organised, proactive and diligent. Enthusiasm for this role is critical
  • Confidence and credibility. Quick learner, if there is lack of relevant past experience/ knowledge

Desirable Skills:
  • Knowledge of Equities
  • Client Strategy/ Business Management experience in Banks
  • Management Consulting, or Project management experience and ability to coordinate inputs and opinions from different sources
  • Possess the confidence and maturity to regularly interact with Senior Management
  • Deep analytical mind proficient in financial/strategic analysis and comfortable multi-tasking while working under tight deadlines
