Our global investment platform is comprised of over 500 investment professionals across six investment functions (Alternative Investments, Private Investments, Investment Boutiques, Research, Science & Strategy) in the Americas, EMEA and APAC regions. The platform collectively manages approximately $1 trillion in assets across the capital structure. The CARS team works in partnership with our investors by managing and maintaining excellent relationships with corporates and external research providers alike, all while maintaining our firm's compliance with global regulators.
THE ROLE The Co-Op Internship is up to a year-long programme which offers an excellent entry point into the Investment Management industry. As a Co-Op Intern, you will be provided with the unique opportunity to learn and acquire firm knowledge and be part of a team responsible for developing and executing corporate access events across APAC i.e. coordination and management of access to corporates, experts and government entities. This will include on and off-site meetings, site visits, conference calls, roadshows, investment conferences and bespoke field trips. This is a hands-on role which requires ownership of day-to-day coordination between our investment professionals and the corporates. You will engage with investors, proactively suggest agendas, itineraries and respond to company queries and questions where applicable.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Assist to centralize and coordinate all corporate access activity across APAC
- Work closely with corporate access originators in APAC to manage logistics of corporate access activities, inclusive but not limited to research trips and meeting coordination.
- Problem solve and liaise with brokers, investors' assistants and corporate create the best possible conference schedules for our investment professionals.
- Help develop and utilize technology to enhance management of the corporate access process
- Work closely with global counterparts in other geographical locations to provide corporate access support. Provide analysis of corporate access consumption data globally and within APAC
- Identify improvement opportunities under the current processes and procedures and provide the team with suggestions.
QUALIFICATIONS - Must be an undergraduate or master's degree student eligible for a year-long industrial placement starting in April 2025 with an interest in a career within investment management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with proficiency in one of the Asian languages (Mandarin or Japanese) preferred.
- Previous administration and project management experience is an advantage.
- A self-starter who can think strategically and has a desire to learn.
- Strong service attitude and the ability to develop relationships with investment professionals to understand and empathize with their needs as investors.
- Highly motivated and proactive individual capable of working on their own initiative under fast paced and pressurized environment.
- High attention to detail and consistent follow-through; accuracy with all work is essential.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task as needed, being a team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and databases are an advantage.
