Senior RM & Head of New Business - Commercial Banking

What this is:

• Commercial Banking – not investment banking (although IB experience would be a bonus).
• Hong Kong focused business (with the possibility of China focused also if you can bring the relationships / contact base). This will not suit candidates from overseas who have no experience in the local markets.
• Relationship Management – you already have a portfolio of corporate clients.
• Business Development – we are looking for a hunter, not a farmer.
• Chinese language – you are fluent in English and Cantonese – Mandarin an advantage.

Role:

• Be a senior representative and lead the development of new business across China and Hong Kong based Corporates. This will be across core commercial banking products including trade financing, loans and deposits etc.
• Structure client requirements ensuring optimum Risk Adjusted Return on Capital performance across business and credit cycles.
• Own the entire credit process from timely preparation of the credit proposal to obtaining the credit approvals and subsequent documentation and onboarding.
• Adhere to structures and processes in place for the management of credit, operational, reputation, financial crime and regulatory risk.
• Achieve business targets for new-to-bank, profitability, deposits growth, income growth and cross-selling.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in credit and customer relationship management in the commercial banking sector with. Experience within investment banking would be helpful but not essential.
• Excellent credit analysis ability along with a deep knowledge of corporate banking products
• Strong networking, leadership and management skills 
• Bachelor's degree, or higher, in a financial, or related, discipline.
• Fluency in English and Cantonese is essential with Mandarin preferred.
