Our client is a leading organisation within the securities sector. They are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join their dedicated team for an important project. This position offers the chance to innovate database management practices and enhance data security within a fast-paced environment.
Your new role
- Manage and optimise PostgreSQL databases to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive data, understanding compliance requirements specific to the securities industry.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and maintain Enterprise Data Platforms, leveraging best practices for data governance.
- Participate in production changes on Saturdays, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Provide expert advice on database-related issues and contribute to strategic planning for database architecture.
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a strong focus on PostgreSQL.
- Proven experience in the securities industry, with insights into regulatory requirements and data management practices.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Data Platforms is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
