Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Data Centre Site Engineer to join our client's team. In this role, you will play a key part in coordinating logistics and ensuring the efficient deployment of their technologies within the region.
Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with colocation facilities and service providers on behalf of our client.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of server hardware, network hardware, server/network appliances, storage hardware, and smart electrical hardware/PDUs.
- Ensure seamless integration of infrastructure components within colocation facilities, including space management and rack/cabinet layouts.
- Bridge knowledge gaps between various infrastructure disciplines (server, network, and storage) to develop project plans for large-scale colocation deployments.
- Oversee the deployment of colocation cross-connects and exchange cross-connects on behalf of our client.
- Adhere to stringent electrical and data center safety protocols.
- Independently manage and execute tasks efficiently.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of infrastructure components using appropriate tools.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills and effectively manage time.
- Work autonomously and demonstrate initiative as needed.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in colocations and data centers.
Additional Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows 7/Windows 10/XP and related Office applications.
- Experience in installing and troubleshooting data center equipment, rack and stack, and cable management.
- Perform network infrastructure cabling, including optical and copper cabling.
- Familiarity with OTDR, Light Level Testing, and infrastructure testing equipment.
- Display a strong team-oriented mindset and self-motivation.
- Possess a basic understanding of the LINUX operating platform.
- Familiarity with networking hardware and CLI.
- Experience using lights-out management systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Cantonese is a plus.
- Experience working with DCIM tools.
