T. Rowe Price is seeking a highly motivated Institutional Sales Associate to join our Institutional Distribution team, focusing on the Hong Kong and Taiwan markets. In this role, you will be instrumental in expanding our institutional business through implementation of strategic sales plans, managing the sales process with key stakeholders, and ultimately fostering strong client relationships to drive institutional AUM growth for T. Rowe Price in these regions.

Our Institutional Distribution team targets a diverse range of segments, including central banks & sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, insurance companies, endowments & foundations, family offices and other investors.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of investment products, strong analytical capabilities, and some established relationships in the Hong Kong and Taiwan markets, coupled with a proven track record of success in institutional sales and business development.

Principal Responsibilities

Sales and Client Service Support:
  • Work closely with senior members of the sales team to identify and capitalize on client opportunities while gaining insights into the market landscape. You will execute targeted business development strategies across different client segments and asset classes including equity, fixed income, multi-asset, and alternative investments.
  • Enhancing relationships with existing clients and proactively seeking new prospects. Engage with investors consistently to discuss T. Rowe Price's investment strategies and provide valuable market updates.
  • Navigating the sales process, managing everything from initial engagement and responding to requests for information (RFI & RFP) to conducting comprehensive due diligence and coordinating onboarding efforts with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of institutional clients, understand their business needs and collaborate with internal investment professionals to formulate solutions in delivering client goals.
  • Play a key role in servicing existing clients as well as cross-selling activities. Handle requests from prospects, clients and consultants. Prepare customized deliverables to address specific questions. This may include preparation of presentations, meeting or conference call set-up, preparation of pre and post meeting notes, follow-up from client and prospect meetings, review of RFPs, collation of performance information etc. This includes direct interaction with both internal shared services resources as well as external communication with clients and prospects. Ensure that procedures and compliance requirements are complied.
  • Help TRP navigate some of the issues pertaining to cultural differences between Asia and US/Europe.

Strategic Planning and Research:
  • Conducts and develops market and product research in support of the business planning process. Research may include market assessments, competitor intelligence, market data, marketing research, product and channel market demand assessments.

Event coordination and management:
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of strategic marketing initiatives designed to elevate T. Rowe Price's brand presence and generate business prospects. Working with the APAC sales teams, Marketing, and TRP shared services organizations, this person will be involved in the coordination of the research, planning and execution of TRP's Asia brand-building activities in connection with industry conferences, TRP institutional road shows and other similar events.

Client/prospect Responsibility:
  • Host Asian institutional clients and prospects when visiting Hong Kong offices. Coordinate the preparations of the meeting materials and presentations with other TRP departments and presenters in preparing for clients and prospects visits to TRP's other offices. Liaises with investment professionals to ensure client meeting objectives are met and TRP visit is memorable for clients. Presents TRP overview and any miscellaneous items directly to clients.

Qualifications
  • College degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience in institutional sales, specifically working with institutional investors, demonstrating a successful track record in business development in the respective markets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese (Fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin).
  • Solid foundation of investment knowledge across different asset classes, understanding of world investment markets and associated products across the increasingly broad spectrum of investment strategy available to institutional clients.
  • Knowledge and experience of institutional clients in relevant markets in the region, in particular Hong Kong and Taiwan.
  • Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Self-starter who is adaptive, result-driven, fast-learning, well-organized, and detail-oriented.
  • CFA qualification is preferred.
