GOVERNMENT RELATIONS AND REGULATORY STRATEGY (GRRS):

GRRS' mission is to advance LSEG's policy agenda and profile with key policy stakeholders as well as serve as a strategic adviser on reputational issues and business initiatives. Our work is focused around four pillars: advocacy, engagement, thought leadership and advisory. We partner with business divisions and functions as well as with our colleagues in the Corporate Affairs & Marketing Division to position LSEG as a trusted resource and thought leader with key decision-makers on policy issues impacting the future of our industry. The GRRS team is truly global, comprised of nearly 30 professionals across 11 LSEG offices globally, with team members speaking 16 languages across 14 different nationalities.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
  • Develop and manage relationships with the Hong Kong regulatory bodies and broader authorities.
  • Anticipate, analyse, and communicate policy, legislative, regulatory, and political developments that impact the Group's strategic and business priorities in the Hong Kong and North APAC.
  • Help to develop and implement advocacy and engagement strategies to craft the policy environment.
  • Represent LSEG at relevant events, roundtables and working groups.
  • Advise colleagues across the business, including ExCo and divisional senior management on key political and regulatory developments in the UK.
  • Collaborate with the Global GRRS team and the Corporate Affairs and Marketing function on key Group-wide initiatives and projects.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • Good political acumen.
  • A good understanding of the political and regulatory frameworks in Hong Kong and North APAC.
  • Experience engaging with regulators in APAC.
  • Knowledge and experience in financial, data / technology and / or professional services policy and regulation.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand technical issues and explain them simply to a range of stakeholders.

  • Internal: Colleagues of varying seniority across breadth and depth of Group, including up to ExCo and divisional senior management.
  • External: Politicians, policymakers, regulators, central bankers, customer and competitor peers, industry bodies, academics and think tanks.
