About the job:

Job Purpose & Objectives

Objectives:
  • Conduct credit analysis on credit applications, prepare credit proposals and monitor the risk management for Corporate & Investment Banking - Financial Institutions (FI) Risk (mainly Banks).
  • Provide comments and recommendations on the market development of banking and financial services industries to the management.
  • Maintain credit quality of existing clients as well as prospective FI clients.
  • Implement risk policies, procedures, manuals and guidelines of Global Risk Management for Financial Institutions in Asia.
  • Ensure the FI counterparty risk management in Asia is complied with the relevant regulatory requirements.

Job purpose:
  • Maintain regular contacts and communications with the banking regulators, external rating agencies, and other major market players to keep abreast of the market development
  • Respond to enquires and maintain a collaborative relationship with Business and other Support Units with regards to counterparty risk of Financial Institutions in Asia.
  • Maintain close communications and collaboration with the Global Risk Management teams in Asia and in Head Office.
  • Assist to develop and implement the counterparty risk management framework in Asia.
  • Recommend the counterparty risk policies, procedures and best practices for implementation in Asia.
  • Ensure the risk policies, framework and proposals updated on timely basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review credit proposals on regular basis.
  • Prepare risk control or monitoring reports on regular basis.
  • Respond to ad-hoc credit proposal from business units.
  • Monitor compliance with the risk procedures and guidelines for financial institutions in Asia.
  • Report periodically to the Senior Management in Asia for material adverse development of Financial Institutions in Asia.
  • Coordinate with various business units to ensure business proposal on timely basis.
  • Maintain the credit risk system updated.
  • Communicate regularly with the front offices to ensure the understanding of the latest risk policies and strategies of the Bank
  • Follow up and keep abreast of market development with documentation, research, statements and communications from the banking regulators, external rating agencies, and other major market players

Job Specifications

Qualification & Experience
  • Bachelor Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, or holder of CPA or ACCA or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in banking or financial services industries. Preference will be given to those with working experience in international banks.
  • Preferred knowledge of treasury and capital market, trade finance and transaction banking products.
  • Preferred knowledge of legal documentation relating to lending and treasury activities.
  • Preferred knowledge of relevant regulatory, statutory and international banking and accounting requirements.
  • Preferred knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analysis of counterparty risks, credit evaluation.

Language & Other Skills

Language
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Chinese Mandarin, other major Asian language, and / or Spanish would be advantages
