Overview:
We are partnering with our corporate banking client to find an Associate in Market Risk Management for their Hong Kong Branch. This essential position is responsible for the effective oversight of market and liquidity risks, ensuring compliance with the bank's policies to safeguard against unforeseen losses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the treasury middle office, focusing on market and liquidity risk for the Hong Kong Branch.
- Calculate the Mark-To-Market value of financial instruments and evaluate market and liquidity risk positions using Excel and relevant systems.
- Work closely with Treasury front and back office teams to ensure accurate risk reporting and assessment.
- Monitor adherence to loss limits and risk positions, taking necessary measures to rectify any violations.
- Prepare and present risk reports to senior management, emphasizing key metrics and potential exposures.
- Conduct regular assessments of risk management processes and contribute to improving operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about market trends and regulatory developments affecting market risk management practices.
Requirements:
- A university degree or higher in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in market risk or a similar field, preferably in the banking or financial sector.
- Strong understanding of market risk principles and practices, particularly concerning banking and trading books.
- Proficiency in financial data platforms such as Reuters and Bloomberg.
- Programming skills in Macro, VBA, or Python are advantageous for enhancing data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent analytical abilities to interpret complex data and make sound decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various teams and stakeholders.
- A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
- Excellent command of written and spoken Mandarin, English, and Cantonese.
