Overview:
Join our esteemed banking client as an Import Support Senior Officer on a contract basis! This pivotal role is essential for delivering comprehensive support to the Import team and managing a variety of trade operations activities. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the issuance of Letters of Credit, including Back-to-Back LCs and Standby LCs, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards while adeptly addressing any discrepancies.
Manage the issuance of Bank Guarantees, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate to facilitate secure transactions for clients.
Handle the lodgment and retirement of LC and collection bills, verifying that all conditions are met while maintaining meticulous records throughout the process.
Review trade documents to ensure conformity with LC terms and adherence to international trade regulations, safeguarding compliance at every step.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding their LC and trade finance inquiries, providing timely updates and efficiently resolving any issues.
Identify potential risks in trade transactions and recommend solutions to ensure the security of both the bank and its clients.
Prepare detailed reports on LC activities, performance metrics, and transaction trends to support informed decision-making and process enhancements.
Assist in training junior team members on LC processes and best practices, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
Requirements:
- Diploma in a relevant field or related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in trade operations within the banking sector, with a strong focus on import processes.
- CDCS qualification is preferred and considered an advantage.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, showcasing strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent team player with strong interpersonal and communication abilities to connect effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Proficient in tools such as Excel, word processing software, and online banking systems, with a knack for data analysis and reporting.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and Chinese is essential, with strong negotiation skills in both languages.
- Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in import LC issuance and related trade finance activities.
