Director/Senior Director, Private Equity (AI Focused)

The position will serve as a Private Equity Investment Manager for a USD investment platform with USD 5 billion in AUM. The role focuses on driving growth in private equity investments within the China and Asia markets, specifically targeting Edge Tech sectors, including Smart Manufacturing, New Materials, and TMT. This is a full-time position based in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development, deal sourcing, execution, and post-investment management of growth-stage equity investment projects in Greater China and Asian markets, aligned with the fund's investment strategy.
  • Analyze and map sub-sectors within advanced technology fields to identify promising investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the fund team across other Asian countries to facilitate multinational investment deals.
  • Formulate deal structures and negotiate legal documentation with investment targets.
  • Regularly manage the post-investment portfolio, providing value-added support where possible.
  • Generate quarterly valuations and comprehensive portfolio reports.
  • Work with other departments to ensure the smooth execution of daily fund management tasks.

Requirements

  • Masters degree or higher, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills acquired from a prestigious institution.

  • Over 15 years of stable work experience in Hong Kong or international markets, with more than 10 years in private equity investment, including USD VC/growth funds and industry-specific investment backgrounds.

  • Familiarity with advanced technology sectors in Greater China and the Asia-Pacific region is preferred; candidates with industry-specific investment experience will have a distinct advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of the Asia PE market, including HK/US/A-share listings, with a proven track record in related stock markets and USD investment experience preferred.

  • Excellent work ethic, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • A detail-oriented, team player with robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Fluency in English and Mandarin is required; Cantonese proficiency is a plus.

  • Experienced candidates may be considered for the Executive Director role.
