Main responsibilities
- To prepare monthly book closing and reports
- To ensure transactions and accounts are accurate, identify errors and make corrections as needed.
- To approve the daily entries for accounts department
- To check and verify all reports to Hong Kong Monetary Authority are timely and effectively delivered
- To check and review various statistic reports to Government Statistics Department
- To monitor daily liquidity ratio
- To manage tax reporting and calculate the monthly tax provision
- Payment control for general administrative expenses including travel claims and handle HR payments: salary, MPF, employment agency fee, etc.
- To review daily and monthly Bank reconciliation statements
- To review daily reports, investigate any irregular items and resolve account discrepancies. To monitor sundry accounts such as prepayment, provision and accruals, deposit account…
- To prepare year-end financial statements
- To handle enquiries from Hong Kong Monetary Authority, auditors, tax advisor and accounting related issues from the Head Office
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. CPA and other certifications will be considered but are not a must.
- At least 10 years experience in banking accounting positions. Ideally in a foreign banks branch and leading a team.
- Deep understanding of the regulatory reporting needs.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Good communications and interpersonal skills to lead their team and handle the relationship with others: operations, compliance, business areas.
- Excel and the rest of Microsoft Office package professional skills. Additional data management skills would be valuable.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
