Investment Analyst, A-shares (Hedge Fund)

Our client is a dynamic equity long-short hedge fund focused on generating superior risk-adjusted returns through rigorous analysis and strategic investments. We are seeking a talented Hedge Fund Analyst to join its team and contribute to its fundamental, bottom-up investment strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth fundamental research on public companies, including financial modeling, valuation, and industry analysis to identify investment opportunities.
  • Investment Thesis Development: Develop and present investment theses for potential long and short positions, supported by quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Regularly monitor portfolio performance, market trends, and macroeconomic indicators to inform investment decisions and adjust strategies as necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior analysts and portfolio managers to refine investment ideas and contribute to the overall investment strategy.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed investment reports and presentations for internal meetings, articulating the rationale behind investment decisions and portfolio adjustments.
  • Risk Management: Assist in the evaluation of risk factors associated with investments and contribute to the development of risk management strategies.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay updated on market developments, sector trends, and competitor activities to identify new investment opportunities and potential risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; Masters degree or CFA designation is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or a similar role, ideally within a hedge fund or asset management environment.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar platforms.
  • A deep understanding of equity markets, investment strategies, and risk management principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while managing multiple projects.
