Job Description

Summary:

Ares Management is seeking an experienced fund raising & investor relations professional to join the Global Client Solutions (GCS) group within the Asia Pacific team. The prospective candidate shall be based in Hong Kong and will be responsible for supporting the Senior Relationship Manager (RM) in further promoting Ares' investment capabilities and solutions to existing and prospective institutional and professional investors across Mainland China and Hong Kong.

It is envisioned that the successful candidate shall possess deep technical private market knowledge of and a proven track record across key client segments including, but not limiting to, sovereign wealth funds, insurers, asset manager/FOFs, and professional single- / multi-family offices.

Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities :
  • Support the Senior RM in the development and implementation of institutional business strategy across Mainland China and Hong Kong markets for all Ares strategies;
  • Identify and lead new client opportunities in assigned coverage segments in collaboration with Senior RM and IR colleagues;
  • Responsible for tracking all meetings with investors and prospects, including maintenance of Salesforce system, distribution of conference and meeting notes, and other organizational tasks
  • Gather market intelligence and research on markets, industry trends, and new potential clients

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or above

Experience Required:
  • At least 5+ years of sales and fundraising experience within asset management firm;
  • Prior experience in a client-facing role in Greater China, such as account management or sales support, specifically in the Institutional Business sector is preferred though not at must

General Requirements:
  • Fluency in English and Native in Mandarin
  • Capable of articulating complex investment strategies and strong knowledge of the alternative market
  • Proactively demonstrate thought leadership, identifies opportunities, seeks continuous improvement and acts in the best interest of the Firm
  • Highly motivated with the ability to set priorities, multi-task, and monitor workload to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Takes initiative, enthusiastic, and strong work ethic.
