The Role
VP, Middle Office, Fixed Income Department
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the MO team in handling daily operational activities between the front office, customers, and various teams, as well as the trade lifecycle management, including account opening for customers, trades booking, monitoring real-time settlement status, and perform transaction reporting to ensure the completion of settlement;
- Execute the duties of the first line of defense risk monitoring for front office, including the monitoring of the liquidity, market and credit risks of the trading desks; analyze major profit and loss events and changes in risk indicators, and ensure that the limit and various indicators are within the risk limit;
- Lead the team to timely complete the review of Know Your Customer (KYC), anti-money laundering risk assessment, and ongoing continuous customer due diligence (CCDD) as required;
- Monitor and improve internal and regulatory reporting control processes;
- Participate in the implementation of various projects related to front office products, conduct system testing, and support the implementation of new products;
- Assist in setting up and the annual review of Fixed Income Department related policies, guidelines, procedures and manuals:
- Such other duties as shall from time to time be directed by your superiors.
Skills & Experience
- Degree holder in finance or business related discipline including finance / economics / risk management / business information system or equivalent;
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in financlal institutions;
- Strong knowledge on financlal products and relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards;
- In-depth understanding and experience in account opening, anti-money laundering, CCDD and KYC review;
- Strong organizational and communication skills; excellent figures sense and strong analytical skills;
- A team player, self-starter, mature, detailed oriented and able to work under pressure;
- Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel;
- Good command of spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua and written English and Chinese.
