The Role

AVP, Model and System Risk, Risk management

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in formulating and reviewing model risk management policy & procedures and operational manuals related to concentration risk, counterparty credit risk, and stress testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide assistance in credit risk related reporting , regulatory examination and auditing tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Responsible for verifying and re-examining various credit risk mathematical models, including but not limited to exposure measurement models, stress testing models, initial margin models for OTC derivatives, and derivative pricing models.
  • Maintain active working relationship with internal stakeholders, including head office, risk teams, finance and business units, to identify and address risk and control issues.
  • Monitor project progress, coach and supervise junior staff, seek guidance from senior colleagues as needed, and keep key stakeholders informed.
  • Demonstrate strong technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Stay abreast of new developments in valuation and risk management methodologies, current market practices, and corresponding regulatory requirements.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong backgound in Math, Science, or Financial Enginerring; Bachelor's degree or above
  • At least 5 years of experience in risk management , valuation control , quantitative analytics related business function within a bank, consulting firm or financial institution. Experience with pricing and modeling financial derivatives, structured notes and complex financial instruments, and capital management and associated regulatory requirements with Basel III and FRTB is preferred.
  • Strong project management abilities with a proven capacity to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in both Chinese (including Putonghua) and English;
  • FRM (Financial Risk Manager) certification is preferred.
  • Experiences with vendor software(e.g. Bloomberg and Numerix) is advantageous. Proficiency in EXCEL VBA is essential; experience with Python, Matlab, or other programming languages is a plus.
