The candidate will join the Corporate Lending Asia team, which is responsible for the marketing, structuring and execution of corporate loan transactions with BBVAs corporate and financial institution clients across Asia Pacific. This position is based in Hong Kong.
The candidates primary role will be to support senior loan originators throughout the origination and execution processes of corporate loan transactions, including syndicated loans, bilateral loans, acquisition financings, and sustainable financings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on clients business activities, creditworthiness and financial strategies, including the analysis of financial performance, market trends, and recent transactions
- Maintain and update databases on comparable deals and relevant loan market activity
- Promote corporate lending products such as syndicated loans, club loans, bilateral loans, sustainable loans and acquisition financings
- Assist in structuring and delivering tailored lending solutions, preparing corporate lending proposals, pitch books, and other marketing materials to win mandates
- Prepare proposals for business and credit committees
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., relationship managers, risk, legal, compliance, tax, sustainable finance, operations) and external stakeholders (e.g., clients, banks, and legal counsel) to ensure seamless execution of transactions
- Draft legal documents such as term sheets and mandate letters, and review facility agreements, fee letters and legal opinions
- Manage the closing of transactions, including signing and booking processes
- Prepare management presentations and activity reports
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or related disciplines
- Minimum of 4 years of working experience in loan origination or related roles
Knowledge & Skills
- Good understanding of the APAC syndicated loan market and industry best practices
- Experience in the origination and execution of corporate loan transactions
- Strong credit and risk analysis skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
- Excellent presentation and analytical skills
- Well-organized and detail-oriented
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Language
- Fluent in spoken and written English. Chinese or any other Asian language is a plus.
