Your new company A well-established foreign corporate bank is looking for a Deputy Department Head of Operations with experience in both Trade Finance Operations and Payment/ Treasury Operations to join their team. The ideal candidate will supervise the daily operational activities of the Import/Export Trade Finance, Payment Operations, and Treasury Settlement teams, which consist of 10 members. They will ensure that all operations are processed in compliance with banking policies and procedures.
Your new role
Supervise the 3 operations teams of Import/ Export Trade Finance, Payment and Treasury Settlement with 10+ headcounts
Report to and assist the Head of Operations Department in overseeing the daily operation of the department.
Perform and investigate daily Trade Operations activities including Import LC issuance/amendment, bill booking and payment, document checking, Bank Guarantees, Trust Receipts; as well as Export LC related products (Advising, Confirmation, Discounting, Collection, etc.)
Supervise and manage all daily payment transactions and treasury settlement, including local/ global payment, inward/ outward remittance, deposit, cheque collection and clearing, FX/MM settlement and funds transfer.
Support and coordinate different types of projects for Business Continuity Plan (BCP), system maintenance, streamline processing, system enhancement, such as ISO 20022, HKICL project and reporting, reporting to HKMA/ HKEX etc..
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business, operations risk and compliance departments to ensure seamless execution of trade operations in adherence to the Bank's policies and procedures.
Build strong risk-control-focused operations and work closely with business partners to ensure high-quality services are delivered and enhance trade customer experiences.
Review current operational processes and systems to maximise work efficiencies by proactively streamlining the trade operations workflow and system
Support department management in developing and implementing the Department's strategic plan as well as managing different sections to achieve the Bank's goal.
Perform any ad hoc projects as assigned
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor's degree or above with a major in Economics, Finance or related disciplines
Substantial experience in trade finance and payment-related operations, possessing relevant qualifications with at least 8 years in management capacity
In-depth trade finance operations experience and cash management knowledge
Good leadership and management skills; and strong at managing and developing teams
Strong command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua
