(Senior) Associate, Internal Audit - MNC Corporate Investment Bank

My client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Internal Audit Associate to join their dynamic audit team. This role will involve supporting the internal audit function by evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance practices across the bank. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and a desire to learn about the complexities of corporate and investment banking operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of internal audit assignments in accordance with established methodologies and standards.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls in key business areas, including investment banking, trading, and corporate banking.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of improvement and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Prepare clear and concise audit documentation, including findings, recommendations, and reports for management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Assist in follow-up audits to ensure implementation of recommended improvements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in internal auditing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or relevant risk management roles, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and standards applicable to investment banking is preferred.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CPA, ACCA) are an advantage.
