Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and energetic Database Specialist to join our Database team. Our team maintains the administration and support for the company-wise database infrastructure. We play a critical role to maintain these company-wise systems that are critical to daily business operation. We also partner with application and infrastructure teams to operate our systems in such fast growing financial markets in Hong Kong. If you want to make an impact, come and join us.
Job Duties: Responsibilities - Perform database administration and support services in Linux, Windows and Cloud platform;
- Implement and support infrastructure solutions in sophisticated, high-performance trading environments that demand stability, high throughput and low latency;
- Provide support and implementation work to application teams including database setup and SQL performance analysis;
- Provide advice for operating policies, technical architecture and configuration of database system;
- Administer and manage Oracle Databases / IBM DB2 / GaussDB / Postgresql including monitoring, troubleshooting, installation, patching and upgrade, performance tuning, backup and recovery, stress test, capacity planning;
- Implement compliance standards and perform regular system compliance review and proactively assesses exposure area;
- Maintain high system availability and ensure all database systems work properly;
- Review SQL, stored procedures and application interfaces with databases;
- Manage vendor to ensure the highest quality delivery and implementation
Requirements - 5+ years of working experience in managing and supporting Oracle / IBM DB2 / GaussDB / PostgreSQL databases;
- Solid experience with Oracle/ IBM DB2/ GaussDB / PostgreSQL and shell script/programming would be an advantage;
- Hands-on experience on Oracle and DB2 database including RAC, ASM, DataGuard and HADR;
- Knowledge in SQL and stored procedures;
- Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards;
- Strong hands-on experience in developing script solutions for process improvement and automation;
- Experiences in AWS RDS or MongoDB or MSSQL is an advantage;
- Experiences in Cloud DB transformation is an advantage;
- Understanding of relational and dimensional data modelling;
- Experience in script programming and administration on Linux or Windows Platform;
- Proactive, strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and analytical skills;
- Degree holder in Computer science, Computer engineering, information technology or relevant discipline
