Job Description

To solicit and win acceptable new relationships within the stipulated Hong Kong and Singapore business strategy and other key parameters by .originating, structuring and recommending appropriate credit facilities and cross selling various products and solutions encompassing trade finance, cash management, treasury and other investment banking products where applicable across Mashreq platform. This role will also manage existing relationships and has responsibility for all credit aspects of the assigned relationships and to contribute the revenue, asset growth and profitability targets of the Unit.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships and identify business opportunities of existing and new corporate banking clients with the objective of revenue and asset growth in line with the Bank's credit standards, policies, processes as well as Hong Kong and Singapore corporate banking strategy.
  • Originate and lead the execution with product partners and internal stakeholders to provide a comprehensive range of solutions to clients - covering loans, trade, treasury, cash management, debt capital markets, capital markets and structured trade solutions.
  • Responsible for all credit aspects of the client portfolio including financial analysis, credit proposals, credit capital allocation approvals, regular credit reviews, early problem recognition in accordance with internal guidelines and policies.
  • Actively develop marketing plans on target clients and build relationships at multiple levels across the client organization meanwhile deepening wallet of existing and new relationships across Mashreq international networks.
  • Ensure compliance, audit, bank's policies, governance and risk control processes are adhered to.
  • The incumbent functions within identified market segments and geographical boundaries, and is required to adhere to the relevant guidance under the Bank's Credit Policy Manual, AML Policy and the Regulators' Supervisory Policy Manual.
  • Externally, the incumbent is required to liaise with client at various working levels, and coordinate with external accounting firms, legal counsel and financial institutions in order to facilitate onboarding, deal execution and client maintenance.
  • Internally, the senior coverage banker has working relationships with the Global Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Treasury & Capital Markets, Operations, Finance, Compliance, Internal Legal etc. to achieve / maximize business opportunities, contain risks, and ensure that the financial /non-financial objectives are met.
  • Coordinating and resolving conflicts as they arise and managing the expectations of all involved parties.
  • Proactively monitor client development, account conduct and credit quality so as to ensure early escalation of potential deterioration.
  • The incumbent is primarily responsible for the achievement of the budgeted revenues and the operating profits as well as the Liquidity for the Bank as agreed for the year while maintaining a low risk portfolio rating.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related disciplines. Master's degree or equivalent from a business school/ university, not required but would be a plus.
  • Minimum 15 years of relationship management experience in Corporate and Investment Banking.
  • Experiences with trade finance, cash management, capital market, FX/ derivatives, and corporate finance products and exposures to China SOEs/ POEs or Hong Kong and Singapore Large Conglomerates preferable.
  • Strong credit assessment and risk management skills and report writing abilities.
  • Team player with strong organizational skills and ability to handle pressure and deadlines.
  • Self-disciplined/ motivated with a high degree of initiative and drive.
  • Have the ability to communicate fluently and concisely (written and verbal) in Mandarin and English.
