Overview:
We are assisting our client, a well-known bank in Hong Kong, in their search for a Project Manager focused on Basel projects. This role is vital for overseeing the implementation and performance monitoring of Internal Ratings-Based (IRB) models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and evaluate the performance of existing IRB models, including application and behavior scorecards, as well as Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), and Exposure at Default (EAD) models.
- Manage the integration of IRB models into the credit decision-making system, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct data analysis to assess and maintain the quality of data within the front-line credit system.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables related to Basel compliance initiatives.
- Prepare and present reports on project progress, model performance, and data quality to stakeholders.
- Identify areas for improvement in existing models and processes, making recommendations for enhancements.
Requirements:
- University degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Holding a FRM certification is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in banking or financial services, particularly in risk management or regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience in data analysis using software tools such as Python, SQL, SAS, and Excel.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, capable of identifying insights from complex data sets.
- Strong communication and writing skills in both Chinese (including Putonghua) and English.
