Job Title: Head of Credit Risk Management (Chief Risk Officer)
Location: Hong Kong
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the CRO in overseeing the financial and non-financial risk management of the virtual banking business.
- Lead the Credit Risk Management function for SME and Commercial Banking, ensuring effective and prudent management of the bank's credit portfolio.
- Provide strategic leadership in credit lending management and oversee credit approval processes, guiding credit officers and analysts.
- Develop and implement credit risk policies and procedures to promote sound lending practices.
- Monitor and manage the credit portfolio to maintain a balanced risk profile.
- Conduct regular reviews and stress tests of the credit portfolio to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Oversee the credit approval process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Evaluate and approve high-value credit applications, exercising expert judgment on complex credit decisions.
- Collaborate with senior management to establish credit limits and risk appetite for various lending products.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of credit officers and analysts, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure thorough credit assessments are conducted, providing accurate risk ratings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in credit risk management within SME or Commercial Banking, preferably from reputable traditional banks; experience in virtual banks is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in credit risk assessment tools and software.
- Experience in other financial and non-financial risk areas is advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of HKMA regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership skills with team management experience.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
