Head of Operations and Development - Hang Seng Investment Management Limited
Established in 1993, Hang Seng Investment Management Limited ("Hang Seng Investment") is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hang Seng Bank Limited, and is Hong Kong No. 1 exchange-traded fund ("ETF") manager in terms of assets under management. As a Hong Kong based asset management company specializing in managing funds related to mainland China and Hong Kong markets, Hang Seng Investment is committed to providing investors with comprehensive investment management services through investment managers with extensive experience in managing funds (including a series of ETFs and retail funds) and investment portfolios for institutional and private clients. As a leading home-grown asset manager in Hong Kong, Hang Seng Investment has over 30 years of asset management experience.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join us as Head of Operations and Development.
Principal Responsibilities:
  • Establish clear operational objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with the strategic goals of the Fund House.
  • Monitor team performance and operational metrics, implementing corrective actions as necessary to meet defined targets.
  • Manage all aspects of back office operations, including trade settlement, corporate actions, fund accounting, compliance, and reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and maintain robust operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks.
  • Regularly assess and enhance controls related to trade processing, corporate actions, reconciliation, and reporting to prevent errors and fraud.
  • Work closely with Chief Operating Office (COO) and senior management to identify and develop strategic operational initiatives that support business growth and enhance client service.
  • Analyze current workflows and operational processes to identify areas for improvement, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Work with COO to lead and coordinate cross-functional projects aimed at improving operational efficiency, collaborating with IT, finance, and other departments as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding operational matters, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Participate in client and internal meetings to provide operational insights and address any operational inquiries or concerns.


Requirements
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Over 10 years of experience in operations management within the financial services industry, with a strong focus on fund operations or related areas
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams and managing complex operational projects from conception to implementation
  • In-depth knowledge of fund operations, regulatory compliance and industry best practices
  • Proficiency in operational systems and technology, with a strong understanding of data management and reporting tools
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels
  • Familiarity with shared services models, governance structures
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and prioritize risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Proficiency in English, Chinese and Mandarin
