Position Description
Reporting to the Head of FICC Flow Sales based in Hong Kong, the Analyst FICC Sales will focus on supporting and developing the growth of the international FICC client franchise.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Support the ongoing research of new client development opportunities for FICCs international product desks which may involve but not limited to primary issuance markets, secondary liquidity participation in bonds and hybrid fixed income instruments as well as vanilla flow structured products and macro flow derivatives for client hedging.
- Work with senior sales and FICC traders to define and determine market participants in both existing and new markets. Succinctly, track, refresh and maintain top 50 relationships across specialised client segments (eg AM, HF, Banks, Central Bank/Agencies, Wealth and Corporates) for coverage in FICCs target products.
- Support senior Sales to clear inactive clients KYC refresh to ensure stale relationships can be revived for business and further monetization.
- Proactively liaise with trading desks to understand market color for each FICC product and build specialized product knowledge to continue to grow into a seasoned FICC Sales professional.
- Work closely with Credit, Convertible Bond and RFX traders to promote and help develop their client markets enabling these desks to widen their liquidity channels and market participation.
- Comply with relevant firm policies and regulatory requirements in relation to selling conduct and practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor or above degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Quantitative science or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a financial services institution required for an early Analyst role. However, for candidates with more seasoned experience especially those with FICC Sales experience they may be considered for a more senior Analyst role.
- Attained all required regulatory qualifications to carry out the necessary regulated activities.
- Some understanding of FICC markets and familiarity with the primary and secondary market infrastructures.
- Takes self-initiatives and highly motivated.
- A strong team player and hardworking to be prepared to support seniors on the desk.
- Good interpersonal and communications skills.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese or Putonghua).
