We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Business Development Director in Securities Services to join on a permanent basis.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
You will be responsible for driving sales and business development within our securities services portfolio across Tier 1 banks in the Asia-Pacific region. This senior-level role demands a deep understanding of the securities services industry, strong relationships with key decision-makers in Tier 1 banks, and a proven track record in sales, strategic planning, and deal closure. As a key member of the sales leadership team, you will leverage your expertise to build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and new clients, identify new business opportunities, and work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver innovative solutions to meet clients' evolving needs.
- Business Development: Drive the growth of securities services products by identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities within Tier 1 banks across the APAC region.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior executives, decision-makers, and key stakeholders at Tier 1 banks.
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Lead the sales strategy for securities services, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives and market trends.
- Product Expertise: Utilise in-depth knowledge of securities services products (such as custody, fund administration, securities lending, collateral management, and other post-trade services) to advise clients on optimal solutions.
- Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, regulatory changes, and market conditions to inform business strategies.
- Sales Target Achievement: Meet or exceed sales targets by securing new business and expanding existing relationships.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Product, Risk, Operations, and Compliance, to ensure successful delivery of services to clients.
- Negotiation and Deal Closure: Lead negotiations and contract discussions with clients, ensuring favourable terms for both the client and the company.
- Client Onboarding and Retention: Oversee the smooth transition of new clients into service delivery, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in business development, sales, or client relationship management within the securities services industry, with a proven track record of selling to Tier 1 banks.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of securities services products, including but not limited to custody, fund services, collateral management, and securities lending.
- Client Network: Established relationships with senior executives and key decision-makers within Tier 1 banks across the APAC region.
- Sales Acumen: Strong business development skills, with the ability to prospect, build pipelines, and close large, complex deals.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute long-term sales strategies, tailored to client needs and market dynamics.
- Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and secure large-scale deals.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; an MBA or relevant professional qualifications is a plus.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
