Job Summary: This position is responsible for handling claims including non-standard cases on the Involved Line(s) of Business following agreed claims processes to achieve settlement and business objectives to deliver excellent customer services. The role is required to assist supervisor in day to day management of claims team.
Involved Line(s) of Business: Property and Engineering
Job Duties: - Manages the team for the Involved Line(s) of Business and provide/recommend necessary training mentoring and guidance to the team members.
- Review, evaluate, negotiate and resolve non-standard and complex cases, within designated personal authority level, in line with established standards, procedures and guidance provided.
- Exhibit technical leadership, both internally and externally, on claims matter which the Company participates.
- Identifying, investigate suspicious / fraudulent claims and take appropriate actions and keep relevant stakeholders closely informed.
- Managing customer/intermediary interactions in an efficient, courteous and timely manner in order to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction. This also includes handling and resolving any customer feedback or complaints.
- Organizing and using approved internal and/or external suppliers to ensure appropriate and timely services are provided to customers.
- Proactively supervise and manage expenses of independent vendors and legal counsels for involved Line(s) of Business.
- Interact with relevant internal / external stakeholders to support and deliver business strategy.
- Meet with existing or prospective clients or intermediaries to promote Claims and support business development.
- Ensure performance of periodic internal review of claim files including monitoring/pursuing of outstanding recoveries.
- Preparation of reports or analysis where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and policy requirements internally and externally.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as warranted.
Qualifications Essential Requirements: - Relevant academic qualifications with a minimum of 7 to 10 years' solid working experience including experience in managing a team of the Involved Line(s) of Business.
- Preferably a holder or in progress of professional insurance qualification such as ANZIIF or ACII and meet minimum local mandatory qualification requirement where relevant.
- Solid experience in handling complex / legal cases independently with sound judgment, strong negotiating and analytical ability in the Involved Line(s) of Business.
- Legal knowledge or legal training is as an advantage.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience in claims process improvements including strong organizational skills.
- Strong team player with proven ability to work with senior management, internal and external parties.
- Demonstrate ability to select, hire, evaluate and work with legal counsel and experts on cases.
- Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and handle a diverse range of claims and responsibilities.
- Strong customer service oriented attitude.
- Strong in oral and written communication skills in English and Cantonese.
- Ability to work on relevant PC applications.
