Our client is a renowned private bank in Hong Kong, now seeking an exceptional Head of Risk Management to lead its risk strategy and reinforce its commitment to excellence. This critical role calls for a strategic leader to guide the banks risk framework in Hong Kong, ensuring compliance with local regulations while delivering insightful risk oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage data analytics to review client portfolios with Investment Advisors and Relationship Managers, proactively addressing unsuitable investment recommendations.
- Develop and refine suitability policies, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Ensure investment solutions meet the financial objectives and risk appetites of high-net-worth clients, in full compliance with regulations
- Present clear, actionable suitability risk reports to senior executives, enabling informed strategic decisions.
- Work closely with Wealth Management and Compliance teams to strengthen suitability risk frameworks and enhance client outcomes.
- Mitigate financial risks in treasury and trading operations, addressing market volatility, liquidity, and counterparty exposures.
- Identify and manage operational risks across all business functions, implementing effective controls to ensure stability
Job Requirements:
- 10+ years in risk management, with a strong preference for private banking or wealth management expertise.
- Knowledge in regulatory frameworks and practices, with experience in risk policies and controls
- Exceptional proficiency in written and verbal English
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills, able to deal confidently with any level stakeholders
