Role Overview
The Project Manager will lead the initiation, execution, and delivery of strategic initiatives aligned with the organization's Strategic Planning cycle. This role involves hands-on project management, stakeholder collaboration, and oversight of cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality project delivery on time and within budget. The role requires proactive risk management, vendor coordination, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Program/Project Management
Drive end-to-end project management for strategic initiatives, from initiation to execution.
Monitor and report program progress, financials, risks, and issues to senior management forums, including the Project Steering Committee and PMO.
Manage vendor sourcing processes, including RFP and SoW preparation, review, and sign-off.
Lead project managers, tech leads, and offshore delivery teams to coordinate with internal IT departments for seamless execution.
Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve issues promptly while mapping intra- and inter-project dependencies.
Oversee change management processes to ensure transparent and effective handling of project changes.
Secure technical clearances (e.g., Change Authority Board) prior to production deployment.
Internal Engagement
Facilitate discussions with business and project teams to provide project status updates.
Engage with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Technology Risk teams to address project risks.
Collaborate with Finance to justify project costs and ensure budget alignment.
External Engagement
Manage relationships with vendors and outsource partners to ensure high-quality deliverables and explore innovation opportunities.
Conduct periodic performance reviews of IT vendors/partners to maintain accountability.
Negotiate with vendors to optimize cooperation and drive innovative solutions.
Education & Experience
5-10 years of experience in consulting, business operations, or project management, ideally within the financial services industry.
Proven track record managing large, complex change projects in banking or financial services, particularly those involving digital and cutting-edge technologies.
Experience leading diverse, cross-functional teams across multiple workstreams.
Familiarity with Agile methodology and its key principles.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and innovative approach to challenges.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a consultative approach.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
