Project Management Director (Life Insurance)

Our client is a leading life insurance company that offers a wide range of insurance and financial products and services tailored to meet the diverse needs of individuals, families, and businesses. We are assisting them in their search for an experienced Director to lead the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure successful delivery of strategic projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, excellent leadership skills, and experience in the insurance industry.

Position Responsibilities

  • Establish and Lead the PMO: Develop and implement PMO standards, processes, and tools to support project delivery and governance.
  • Project Governance: Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget by establishing robust governance frameworks and monitoring project performance.
  • Strategic Alignment: Align project objectives with the company's strategic goals and ensure that all projects contribute to the overall business strategy.
  • Resource Management: Oversee resource allocation and capacity planning to ensure optimal utilization of project resources.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, project sponsors, and external partners.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on project performance, providing regular updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers and PMO staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in project management, with at least 6 years in a leadership role within life insurance industry.
  • General understanding of Agile methodologies and principles
  • Experience in change management and organizational transformation
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools, with a solid understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese.
