About the Role The Value Realisation Office (VRO) is a key pillar of Strategy & Transformation, with the aim for AIAHK to achieve its strategic ambitions by ensuring that we realise the value we set out to deliver from our investments in strategic initiatives.
The incumbent will support, thought partner, and challenge business functions to deliver on their strategic plans through prioritisation and oversight of the strategic portfolio; facilitation of the funding approval process; performance monitoring; and targeted intervention and support.
Roles and Responsibilities: Value Realisation - Collaborate with the Strategy team and the business functions in the annual strategy planning process to identify initiatives to support their functional plans.
- Facilitate prioritisation of initiatives for the pipeline of strategic funding.
- Challenge proposed benefits at business case stage to ensure that they are the right levers to contribute value to the strategy; that they are ambitious, realistic, and achievable; and that business owners are held accountable to their committed targets.
- Monitor progress, outcomes, and performance of the strategic portfolio to ensure benefits are realised in a timely fashion.
- Investigate gaps, diagnose issues, and propose solutions or intervention actions to business sponsors.
Strategic Portfolio Governance - Familiarise with the AIA Group Project Approval Standard and provide subject matter expert advice to enforce robust project governance.
- Proactive strategic portfolio and pipeline management to ensure that business cases are approved and delivered per plan and in a timely manner.
- Review business cases and work with business teams to ensure quality; that the narrative and objectives are clearly articulated; and the return on investment is aligned with strategic intent.
- Support the Head of VRO in their capacity as Project Approval Lead in making recommendations to business cases, anticipating challenges and feedback from leadership, and maximising chances of approval.
Business Partnering - Lead by example to uplift strategic mindset, capabilities, and best practices in both business functions and reviewer / enabler functions.
- Propose, plan, and implement improvements to efficiency, transparency, and agility in the strategic prioritisation and funding approval process.
- Ideate and deliver initiatives to increase awareness, understanding, and application of best practices to improve quality of business cases.
Data & Analytics - Assist the Head of VRO in developing strategic data analytics capabilities required for timely monitoring of progress against AIAHK's strategic initiatives, and to support the wider Strategy & Transformation team's mandate and priorities.
- Conduct regular analysis to identify business performance trends and insights to support strategic planning, to monitor progress against strategic targets, and to measure the effectiveness of our strategic investments.
Job Requirements: - Degree holder with relevant professional qualifications
- Minimum 8+ years working experience in similar roles and functions within the insurance industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to influence and drive other teams with enthusiasm and effectiveness.
- Proven experience to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders within business including Exco and other function heads.
- Solid project delivery experience; having successfully managed or led complex, multi-function/multi-stakeholder projects in a large corporate environment.
- Proven ability to identify, define, and deliver innovation opportunities and solutions. Foster open communication and idea generation.
- Knowledge of current industry-wide approaches and best practice for project management and methodologies
