Job Purpose:
• To maximize the amount of recovery and minimize the loss incurred from classified accounts in Corporate Banking Division.
• To ensure that operations of classified loan collection are compliant with internal and regulatory guidelines and procedures.
• To supervise SAM staff for their monitoring and reporting of specific accounts in Corporate Banking Division.

Main Responsibilities:
• To formulate, execute and monitor account strategies and recovery actions for classified accounts in Corporate Banking Division.
• To represent the bank to meet with delinquent borrowers, attend bank group meetings, and liaise with external parties for legal matters or handling of collateral.
• To prepare and review proposals and management reports in relation to specific classified accounts and the classified loan portfolio.
• To estimate, coordinate and monitor Stage 3 ECL of classified accounts.
• To ensure recovery procedures are compliant with internal and external requirements.
• To regularly review procedures and guidelines in relation to Special Assets Management.
• To supervise and coordinate the completion, accuracy and timeliness of various management reports and regulatory returns prepared by SAM team on specific borrowers and the classified loan portfolio.
• To reply to queries from internal parties (including finance, legal and compliance) and regulator.

Incumbent Requirements:
• University degree holder or above in accounting, finance, business administration or law.
• Minimum 10 years of banking experience (including credit risk, commercial banking and corporate banking), preferably with exposure in credit control and debt collection operation and at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in handling loan recovery action on PRC corporates is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Good command of spoken and written English / Chinese (including Putonghua).
• Able to work independently and under pressure.
• Conversant with up-to-date HKMA requirements in related areas.
