Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Q/KDB+ Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Q/KDB+ programming, strong knowledge of Linux environments, and a proven background in application development and systems analysis. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex projects within a dynamic, fast-paced financial technology environment.
Were looking for someone who can:
- work closely with products across Global Markets including Equities, Futures, and FX, and Technology to deliver regional and global projects
- help design and enhance analytics for the Equities, Futures, and FX businesses
- analyze algo performance for clients, including highly bespoke, in-depth reports
- translate business requirements into designs for global solutions
Your team
You will be working in the Global Markets Quantitative Analytics and Development team, based either in Hong Kong. Our role is to provide tools, analytics, and execution consultancy for Execution Services and Electronic Trading for Equities, Futures, and FX products globally.
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Q/KDB+ programming
- Proficient in Linux environments
- Skilled in Shell scripting
- Excellent understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and implement Q/KDB+ applications aligned with architectural and business standards
- Apply expertise in system operations to define and uphold coding, testing, debugging, and implementation standards
- Analyze complex business and system processes to design innovative and scalable solutions
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert in at least one domain of application development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architecture, infrastructure, and product to deliver high-impact solutions
- Identify system enhancements and support integration efforts for new products and process improvements
- Deliver high-quality documentation and maintain code quality standards across projects
- Drive project success by managing timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in application development or systems analysis
- Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering complex technology solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
