About the Role Provide oversight of the operational risk profile of the organization and work with the business to identify material risks requiring management attention so as to support the business to make well informed decision by anticipating and mitigating risks.
Governance & Framework - Drive and support the implementation of Operational Risk Framework and Risk Taxonomy as directed by AIA Group from time to time.
- Ensure adherence to Group and Local policies, standards and procedures.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to operational risk management.
Risk Identification & Assessment - Provide independent oversight & challenge on the risk and control assessment.
- Engage with risk owners to drive the identification and assessment, management and response, monitoring, and identify controls of operational risks on key initiatives and projects.
- Monitor and report key risk indicators, ensure timely escalation of significant risk issues to senior management.
- Review and challenge the risk deliverables submitted by business functions.
Management Reporting - Drive and support the Operational Risk Committee and other relevant management committees.
- Prepare regular risks reports by collecting, verifying and analyzing the information in order to ensure accurate and timely submission of reports and to ensure key operational risks are appropriately addressed in Risk Committees.
- Lead and manage the operational risk incident reporting. Ensure operational risk incident is well managed and mitigation/preventive actions have been implemented.
- Support the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process related to Operational Risk and develop tools to quantify the top risks for prioritization.
- Conduct timely and accurate communications to various stakeholders such as internal parties, Group Office, regulators, auditors, etc
- Support and maintain operational risk related systems (e.g. eGRC, IRIS and Third Party Management etc.).
Awareness/ Training - Promote a strong risk awareness and culture through regular communication to staff and distribution channels and delivery of training.
- Prepare materials for general training and other risk-awareness initiative to promote risk programs.
- Collaborate with 1st Line to ensure that operational risk practices are embedded into business process.
- Present operational risk management activities to senior management.
