Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic data team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering with a proven track record of migrating legacy data systems to Alibaba Cloud (Aliyun). This role requires deep expertise in cloud-based data architecture, data pipeline development, and data governance, along with excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and architectures on Alibaba Cloud.
- Drive and execute legacy data migration projects to Ali Cloud, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Implement and maintain data governance, quality, and security standards.
- Optimize data workflows and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
- Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to best practices and technical standards.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of overall experience in data engineering or related fields.
- 5-6 years of hands-on experience with Alibaba Cloud (Aliyun) services such as MaxCompute, DataWorks, OSS, RDS, and EMR.
- Proven experience in migrating legacy systems (e.g., on-premise databases, Hadoop, or other cloud platforms) to Ali Cloud.
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and familiarity with Java or Scala is a plus.
- Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data engineering.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Alibaba Cloud Professional Certification (e.g., ACP Big Data or ACP Cloud Computing).
- Experience with real-time data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Kafka, Flink).
