The ideal candidate MUST have working experience in insurance sector (general, life or reinsurance); must be a Mandarin speaker, possess extensive expertise in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), financial reporting, Audit, and IFRS 17. The candidate should have substantial managerial experience within the general insurance or reinsurance industries, with a strong preference for those with reinsurance experience. A comprehensive understanding of China and Hong Kong financial regulations is essential to ensure compliance and strategic alignment with regional standards.

 

As senior executive within the firm, you will collaborate with the CEO, CFO, and the executive team to make decisions regarding the company's financial strategy and operations. You will act as a custodian of the companys revenue and expenses and prepare financial projections in support of the organisations overall business plan. Furthermore, you must interpret complex financial statements and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You will be involved with the day–to–day operations of a company and various business lines.

 

In addition, you will lead and manage the FP&A function, ensuring robust financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis processes. Serve as a subject matter expert on RBC and IFRS 17, ensuring efficiencies and providing guidance on implementation and reporting. Drive efficiency improvements in financial processes and systems to enhance the quality and timeliness of financial data and to implement and maintain robust controls and procedures to safeguard the organization's assets.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in financial management roles, with a strong background in the general insurance or re-insurance industries.
  • Proven managerial experience, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is essential and proficiency in English is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of FP&A, financial reporting, and IFRS 17.
  • Strong understanding of China and Hong Kong finance rules and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
