About the Role

Position

The Product Marketing Specialist will combine strong investment knowledge, marketing experience, a client perspective, and a commercial lens to partner with client group, product management and portfolio management. The role will effectively position and communicate our investment capabilities, approaches and funds externally and internally, across both traditional and digital channels. As the part of the APAC Product Marketing team, this individual will also partner closely with our Americas and EMEA Product Marketing teams on cross-regional initiatives.

Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Product Positioning and Messaging: Develop clear and compelling product positioning and messaging strategies that highlight the unique value propositions of our investment capabilities and funds
  • Selling System Development: Design and implement a robust selling system (primarily for wealth and advised retail channel) that equips client-facing teams with effective tools, resources, and training to maximize product adoption and client engagement. Collaborate with internal teams to recommend enhancements that ensure the display of relevant data, ease of client use, appropriate update frequency, efficient distribution, internal sharing, archiving, and maximize opportunity for cross region leverage
  • Market Update and Intelligence: Strengthen our competitive analysis and market intelligence capabilities to emphasize product differentiation. Collaborate with investment directors and portfolio management teams to provide client-facing colleagues with timely updates and strategic messaging, enhancing client engagement. Continuously monitor competitor activities and market trends to refine product positioning and strategy.
  • Marketing Campaigns: Partner with global marketing colleagues to support key campaigns promoting Wellington's investment capabilities. Collaborate with channel marketing to identify new opportunities for different formats and new content for priority products, setting out the annual agenda for product materials.
  • Content Creation and Management: Collaborate with client group partners, channel strategists and global content center of excellence, develop regional content strategy and development that balances global and local needs.
  • Internal Training: Facilitate ongoing training and support to ensure client-facing teams are well-versed in product offerings and competitive positioning
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with key stakeholders globally, including marketing, distribution, investment, product management, product development, marketing compliance, fund reporting, and design.
Qualifications

Specific qualifications include:
  • Over 8 years of experience in marketing, competitor intelligence, or product management
  • Expertise of product marketing within an asset management firm, with strong understanding in regulatory and legislative landscape, knowledge of UCITS and local fund ranges marketing rules across APAC especially in Singapore and Hong Kong, and understanding of financial promotions rules. Prior exposure to alternative investments a plus
  • Experience across APAC markets and sales channels (intermediary/institutional)
  • Solid technical knowledge of products and investments. Client-facing experience is a plus
  • Skilled in crafting compelling fund narratives that engage diverse audiences
  • Global perspective with experience working in regional and global teams
  • Passion for working in a collaborative environment as part of a global team
  • Strong collaborator and influencer, adept at engaging multiple stakeholders and quickly building relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal, and written
  • Proficiency in Chinese (verbal and written)
  • Possesses an entrepreneurial mindset, a can-do attitude, a problem-solving mindset with intellectual curiosity
