Head of Corporate Strategy (Life Insurer)
Our client is a leading life insurance group with a global presence. We are now assisting them in recruiting a Head of Strategy to shape the long-term vision and strategic direction of their HK operations. This role will also serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team, driving enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, transformation programs, and inorganic growth opportunities, including M&A activities.
Position Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:Define and drive the long-term strategic roadmap for the company, aligned with Group priorities and market dynamics.
- Transformation & Execution:Lead cross-functional strategic and transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment across business units and functions.
- Advisory to CEO: Act as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and executive team, providing insights and recommendations on key business decisions.
- Market & Segment Strategy:Develop tailored strategies for key segments such as UHNW, GBA expansion, and digital transformation.
- M&A & Growth Projects:Evaluate and lead inorganic growth opportunities, including partnerships, acquisitions, and new business models.
- Stakeholder Engagement:Influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organization to ensure buy-in and successful execution of strategic initiatives.
- Storytelling & Communication:Translate complex strategies into compelling narratives for internal and external stakeholders.
Position Requirements
- 16+ years of experience in strategy roles, with a blend of top-tier consulting and in-house corporate strategy.
- Proven track record in the life insurance industry is a must.
- Experience leading multi-dimensional strategic initiatives beyond a single stream (e.g., not just M&A or cost optimization).
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills.
- High energy, charismatic, and able to influence at the C-suite level.
- Deep understanding of insurance functions and customer segments.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in managing complex projects.
- Cantonese speaker preferred, but not mandatory for the right candidate.
