Mizuho- VP - Corporate Research (China Corp Team)
We are assisting in the search for a VP - Corporate Research professional to join a leading corporate banking client's China Corp Team. This is an exceptional opportunity for experienced researchers with a background in the materials or chemical industry. If you have 8+ years of corporate research experience and are fluent in both Japanese and Mandarin, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on companies within the materials and chemical industries, providing valuable insights to support the China Corp Team.
- Develop comprehensive reports and presentations that inform strategic decision-making and client engagement.
- Support the Industry Research Department in gathering information and providing advice to companies and state authorities in Greater China and Japan, with potential expansion to other Asian countries.
- Monitor industry trends through discussions with clients and specialists, conducting thorough research activities.
- Identify client needs and deliver professional strategic solutions tailored to their requirements.
- Conduct client meetings and business trips (1-2 times per month to Greater China) to establish strong relationships.
- Build and maintain networks with relevant parties, including internal divisions and third-party service providers.
- Collaborate closely with team members to enhance work processes and improve efficiency.
Requirements:
- Degree holder in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 8 years of corporate research experience, specifically in the materials or chemical industry.
- N1 Japanese language qualification, demonstrating proficiency in business-level communication.
- Native or professional-level Mandarin skills to effectively engage with Chinese clients.
- Strong understanding of industry trends and market dynamics relevant to the materials and chemicals sectors.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in mentoring and developing team members.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in both Japanese and Mandarin.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret complex data and market information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
