A leading Chinese Bank is hiring a Head of Operational Risk.
Your new role
- Framework Development:Design and maintain a robust operational risk management framework in alignment with Basel standards and regulatory expectations across the Group.
- Policy Implementation & Coordination:Collaborate with business units to execute the Group's operational risk strategy, ensuring the adoption of effective tools, methodologies, and procedures for risk identification, evaluation, and mitigation.
- Risk Oversight & Monitoring:Oversee the application of risk policies across departments, track key operational risk exposures, and recommend corrective actions to address control deficiencies. Monitor the implementation of these actions.
- Product & Service Risk Governance:Establish risk oversight mechanisms for new and existing products, services, and third-party engagements. Participate in due diligence and risk assessments for both internal and external service arrangements.
- Business Continuity Management:Lead the development and execution of business continuity strategies, including facility readiness, plan updates, simulation exercises, and real-time incident tracking.
- Regional Risk Leadership:Direct operational risk and continuity planning efforts for ASEAN subsidiaries and branches, ensuring alignment with Group standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Risk Culture & Training:Foster a strong risk-aware culture through targeted training programs and awareness initiatives across the organization.
- Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Proactively identify emerging risks, escalate concerns, and oversee the implementation of mitigation plans.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM) preferred.
- 10-15+ years of experience in operational risk management within the banking sector.
- Strong leadership and team management experience.
- Deep understanding of risk frameworks (e.g., Basel III, COSO, ISO 31000).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is essential.
