PWM Java Developer

A top global financial services firm is hiring Java Software Developers for their Private Wealth Management teams, which provide end-to-end technology solutions to support high-net-worth clients across Asia and Australia. These are 12-month extendable contract roles.

Salary: HK$50k - HK$90k

 

Role responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize trading platform components.
  • Contribute to core libraries, system architecture, and technical design reviews.
  • Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with global teams on Agile/DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation).
  • Ensure high-quality code through documentation, testing, and troubleshooting (L3 support as needed).

Required experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot) and OOP/functional programming.
  • Prior experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, MQ, pub/sub models).
  • Knowledge of microservices, caching, and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud deployments.
  • Basic proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Angular, or Node.js is a plus).
  • Ability to learn complex systems and financial workflows.
  • Passion for scalable, high-performance platforms.

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience in wealth management, trading systems, or derivatives.
  • Understanding of financial concepts (trades, orders, allocations, etc.).
  • Experience migrating monoliths into microservices.
