MUFG Bank is seeking a highly knowledgeable and dependable Vice President for their Trade Sales for Financial Institutions in their Transaction Banking Office for Asia. This role is based in the vibrant city of Hong Kong. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape trade finance solutions for non-bank FIs and cross-sell a range of transaction banking products. What you'll do: As the Vice President of Trade Sales for Financial Institutions, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and promoting trade finance business within the East Asia Region. Your excellent skills in structuring trade finance solutions will be crucial in dealing with non-bank FIs. You will have the opportunity to cross-sell a variety of transaction banking products while also driving trade finance promotion campaigns. Your role will involve overseeing trade asset distribution across Corporate and FI risk by managing both bank and non-bank investors in APAC. A key part of your role will be working closely with relationship managers to identify target clients and develop effective transaction banking account strategies. You will also collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Support and promote trade finance business for Financial Institutions in East Asia Region, especially Hong Kong and Mainland China.
- Structure trade finance solutions for non-bank FIs such as Insurance, Pension Funds, Financial Sponsors.
- Cross-sell cash management, treasury and other transaction banking products.
- Independently derive, drive and support trade finance promotion campaigns and sales initiatives.
- Oversee trade asset distribution across Corporate and FI risk by managing the bank and non-bank investors in APAC.
- Work closely with relationship managers in FI team to identify target clients and map out transaction banking account strategies.
- Collaborate with trade operations, product management and legal teams to ensure smooth execution.
What you bring: The ideal candidate for this Vice President position brings a wealth of experience from the banking industry, specifically within sales roles related to FI trade. Your solid knowledge of FI trade finance products and supply chain finance solutions will be key to your success in this role. You will have proven experience dealing with correspondent banks, NBFIs, credit agencies and financial sponsors. Your comprehensive credit skills will be highly valued. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders. Fluency in both spoken and written Chinese and English, including Putonghua is required, and knowledge of Japanese would be an advantage.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in banking industry, with at least 3 years focusing on sales role related to FI trade.
- Solid knowledge in FI trade finance products and supply chain finance solution.
- Experience in dealing with correspondent banks, NBFI, credit agencies / financial sponsors.
- Comprehensive credit skills are preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with RMs, Product Development team, and other Product Offices.
- Excellent command of both spoken and written Chinese and English, including Putonghua. Knowledge of Japanese will be an advantage.
