Company Overview This role is with a leading life insurance provider in Asia, recognized for its long-standing heritage, customer-first philosophy, and commitment to digital innovation. The company is undergoing a significant transformation to modernize its core systems and enhance operational efficiency. The IT Department plays a pivotal role in supporting business operations and driving strategic initiatives, particularly through the use of the eBao core life insurance system
Role Responsibilities - Lead and support the Core Life System (eBao), including mentoring junior team members
- Act as a liaison between business units and vendors throughout project lifecycles
- Participate in IT transformation programs and enforce IT governance and change management
- Engage with business departments to understand needs and propose IT solutions
- Oversee quality assurance including UAT planning, testing, and documentation
- Handle system development, technical documentation, and performance optimization
- Manage resource planning, effort estimation, and risk escalation
- Monitor service metrics and KPIs to ensure system reliability and performance
Requirements Experience & Education
- Life insurance industry experience is mandatory
- Experience with the eBao system is a huge plus
- Higher diploma or above in an IT-related discipline
Technical Skills
- Operating Systems: Unix, Linux, Windows
- Programming: Java, .NET (VB/C#), Shell script, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Struts, SOAP, REST, MuleSoft, JSON, jQuery
- Databases: Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server, MySQL
- Reporting Tools: Jasper/iReport, Crystal Report, Fine Report, Qlik Sense
- Printing Tools: SIP, Quadient/GMC
- Other Tools (advantageous): UiPath, Salesforce, Tomcat, Apache
