We are now hiring a VP/FVP, Compliance for a fast-growing global bank for their compliance team to support the compliance function for their private banking (as well as Investment Banking) business.
Your new role
- You will report to the Head of Compliance and support the overall compliance function for the Private Banking / Investment Banking business of the company.
- Deliver effective compliance advice to internal business teams and provide clear, actionable guidance on regulatory matters.
- Prepare management reports that identify, assess, and track key compliance risks and emerging trends across the bank's business activities.
- Oversee and enhance compliance policies, manuals, and procedures to ensure alignment with the latest HKMA and SFC regulatory requirements and standards.
- Evaluate product and investment offerings for suitability, ensuring alignment with client profiles and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Lead trade surveillance programs, ensuring early detection and resolution of potential regulatory breaches.
- Execute targeted compliance audits and reviews to identify control weaknesses and drive timely remediation
- Continuously monitor and analyse emerging regulatory developments impacting the bank, and proactively communicate relevant updates to key stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
- Identify compliance training gaps and spearhead the development of structured programs to address deficiencies.
What you'll need to succeed
- A Bachelor's Degree holder in banking/finance/economics/law is highly preferred.
- Requires around 10-12+ years of experience in Compliance from Banking, preferably from foreign banks and with a focus on private banking.
- Solid experience in providing compliance advice to internal business teams.
- Familiar with the latest HKMA and SFC regulatory requirements and standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills with high attention to detail.
- Fluent in English and Cantonese.
