Investment Analyst - Asset Management - Hong Kong

My client is a leading bespoke asset manager offering customized investment solutions in hedged and long-only strategies across APAC, US and emerging markets. They are seeking an entry-level Investment Analyst to join their Hong Kong investment team. The successful candidate will assist in conducting research, analysing financial data, and supporting Portfolio Managers in investment decision-making processes, as well as the following:

Responsibilities

  • Carry out thorough market research, in-depth analysis of financial statements and data and support research on hedge funds across strategies.
  • Collect, organise, and analyse financial and/or performance data to support investment strategies and portfolio management.
  • Keep abreast of market trends, economic news, and industry developments that may impact investment strategies.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarising findings and insights for senior management and investment committees.
  • Work closely with senior analysts and portfolio managers to support the investment process and contribute to team discussions.

 

Requirements 

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong Analytical and Quantitative skills, with a solid understanding of financial concepts and investment principles.
  • Excellent in Excel and financial modelling; experience with data analysis tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Internship experience in finance, investment banking, or asset management will be a bonus, as will familiarity with hedge fund strategies and investment vehicles.
  • Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Cantonese and Mandarin will be an added advantage.
