IT Specialist - Infrastructure (MNC Securities brokerage)

My client, a MNC securities brokerage, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Infrastructure Support Manager in Hong Kong office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day IT operations, supporting mission-critical systems, ensuring IT security and compliance, and driving infrastructure upgrades to support business growth. Prior experience in a financial services or securities trading environment is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the IT infrastructure support team and oversee the daily operation of servers, networks, firewalls, storage systems, cloud services, and data centers
  • Provide hands-on support for Windows/Linux servers, virtual environments (VMware/Hyper-V), and network components (routers, switches, firewalls, VPN)
  • Ensure high availability and performance of trading platforms, market data feeds, order management systems, and other business-critical applications
  • Manage IT service delivery (incident, problem, and change management) according to ITIL standards
  • Work closely with application support and front-office teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues impacting business operations
  • Maintain and enforce security policies, patching schedules, backup/recovery processes, and disaster recovery planning
  • Coordinate with external vendors, data centers, and regulatory bodies to ensure service-level compliance and operational readiness
  • Plan and execute infrastructure upgrade projects, including network redesigns, cloud migration, and hardware refresh
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability

 

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 3 years in a managerial or team lead role
  • Solid hands-on experience in managing server infrastructure, network administration, storage, and backup systems
  • Familiar with IT operations in a financial institution or securities trading firm, with an understanding of HKEX connectivity, FIX protocol, and low-latency environments
  • Strong knowledge of information security practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., SFC guidelines, cybersecurity audits)
  • Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, MCSE, VMware VCP, or equivalent are preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is a plus
