About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a broad range of legal and regulatory matters across the firm's operations. This includes fund structuring, commercial contracts, dispute resolution, and compliance. The role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on international arbitration, insolvency-related disputes, and regulatory investigations.
- Oversee legal matters related to fund operations, commercial agreements, and strategic projects.
- Draft and review offering documents (PPM, IMA, IAA), contracts, and legal correspondence.
- Provide legal guidance on hedge fund structures and coverage.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
- Liaise with external counsel in Hong Kong and offshore jurisdictions.
- Manage legal risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Handle ad-hoc legal assignments as needed.
Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or another major common law jurisdiction.
- Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), including at least 3 years at partner level.
- Strong background in dispute resolution, international arbitration, and regulatory matters.
- Experience in hedge funds or asset management is essential.
- Prior experience at an international law firm is highly preferred.
- High integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
